The Unimportance of Being Earnest, Apparently

Round Two of Tule Ponds was not planned out in the least.  The plan was to do something different for each set of volunteer hours, to get a taste of different types of people and situations, but I find due dates always have me flailing in the end.  In the end, Zoe, Katrina, Corrina, and I were shuffled off to pull weeds with an eighth grader and a late arrival.  Since there was a surplus of people around Tule Ponds volunteering this week -- and shovels can only be so destructive, really -- the staff didn’t hang around much, only to tell us it was break time.

Due to lack of shade, I found the work more difficult this time, though it required less energy.  The whole of the two plus hours were spent weeding and talking.  There was also a bit of me opera singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” during break, or was it screeching?  Whatever, I had fun.

I don’t like that my intentions still aren’t “pure” or what ever you wanna call it.  The homework aspect is just reminding me how much I wouldn’t care otherwise.  But, hey, the people here don’t look at me like I’m too weird, and that’s just fine with me.  Probably returning soon enough.

And too lazy to format, so:

Exactly why you shouldn't take me seriously.
We are now an album cover.
We were just putting shovels away, I swear.

Hey Auriana! i need to say that you guys were lucky by not doing much of the work. it was funny how you would start opera singing queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody". i think it would be ok becuase, even I start singing and making fun of things during my volunteer hours at school but, i mostly get enjoyed by my friends who knows what i am saying and they start laughing because, out of a real song we make a different one with a lot of funny things involved in it. i really like the way you appreciated working and pull weeds with eighth grader.
