The World Well Lost

Tule Ponds Part Three was the same as Day Two (now with added screeching!), but since then I’ve noticed this: if weeds were people, they’d be that one kid that gets picked on by even the teacher.  All of the other plants are “pretty” or have a half-decent scent or flow nicely in the wind; but poor Weed just sits there in the cracks, bristled and stiff, just waiting for someone to pick on it.  Stop the hate, guys.

(Ironically enough, “a ‘volunteer’ is a plant that grows on its own, rather than being deliberately planted by a farmer or gardener”, according to Wikipedia.  You’re welcome for having an internet access and a lifetime subscription to Procrastinators Tomorrow.)

I actually kinda like volunteering; it gets me out of my lair and I’m getting credit for it.  I think it’s important for kids to understand that volunteering doesn’t mean you’re a “pussy” or a “wimp” and this way maybe they’ll help their parents or become Batman.  But I also think people are annoying and need a reward system of sorts to begin to care.  All in due time, I guess.

Scrambling for photographic evidence.  (I tried to run.)

I don't know how to smile, okay?
Kid castles are the new teenage hangout.  Get with it.
