This week i went to Cabrillo elementary again. Once again i helped the kids with homework, most of the kids did not have a lot of homework because they had STAR testing so it was more of just having fun with them.i met two little girls annelise,and ariana and they really started to like me and let me sit with them at the "princess bench" they were very funny little girls.
One thing i have noticed is that because of the lack of teachers this program has the teachers tend to get very frustrated with the kids. The people that do volunteer there are a big part because it helps the teacher out alot. the group of kids we helped were called the purple group and they only had 2 teachers helping with about 15 kids.
The kids in prop 49 really needed some special attention when it comes to homework and this cant be given to them with only a few teachers to help them. Im glad i was there to help so the kids feel like they understand the material they are given.

That's great that you are helping those children, Catherine! The economy is hard these days but it's a great thing that Cabrillo had you come by and assist them with what they needed. I bet they really appreciate it! Great job!
