During these few weeks, we have played basketball and that was really fun again and we have also continued to draw and such. This time that we went, Cosmo and Sheena drew for us which was really sweet. I take my camera frequently, so I am able to take pictures and the times that I do take it, the students seem to like pictures and every time that I take the picture, I show them and Sheena or some other student will say, " That's nice!" or some other complements along with the other students. Another experience that I got was that we went recycling with the students to the lower Eggers building and we had fun because we helped recycle! Recycling gives them a benefit because it helps them pay off expenses for the students such as food and other fun stuff and this school is generous enough to let them keep the money, which is great. The amazing part of these students is that they are always enthusiastic to see another husky and they are happy to see that someone comes to visit and they get excited. The one thing that I have noticed is that as much as the students are sensitive to some things, you can also cheer them up quickly. For example, Cosmo was crying and me and maria did not know why, so maria asked and she did not answer, but as soon as Mrs. Deleon told her to cheer up, she thought for a moment, stop crying and started to laugh. I thought about this and I thought of it as a gift that was given to her, and that was a great gift. As much as we many not think about these students, there more than what is set for them as a stereotype.
These experiences that I have had with these students are wonderful, not only have they taught me moral lessons, but a lesson to not judge others, to not look at people thinking they do not have the same opportunities as you. Honestly, I believe that more huskies should go and visit because the love that you get from them is just unforgettable.

I've been knowing Cosmo for a while now, and I've noticed how she reacts to things. She really shows her emotions to others. This is like her way getting other people's attention towards her. Noticed how when Mrs. Deleon asked her to cheer up, and she did? She just wanted someone's attention. Maybe she doesn't get that much attention at home, so she tends react emotionally to everything. In the end, it's a great feeling to be here for these wonderful kids!
I really like the fact that you chose to work with the special education students. I myself chose the to focus on the same social issue because I feel that it is something really important that people should be more aware of. Playing basketball, drawing pictures, and doing the recycling are awesome ways of interacting with the students and it's a fun way to get to know them too. I've also met some of the students there and they're really nice and easy to talk to. Keep up the good work :)
