Round 2

Since the first of my three community service opportunities went so well i decided to go back for another round of community service. Selling tasty treats for breast cancer at Safeway was my service of choice. Jordan i were the only participants for this adventure and were excited to sell for a good cause. With this great opportunity comes a catch. Since its for breast cancer we had to wear brightly decorated bras to attract more attention to our concession stand. Although it was embarrassing we knew it was for a good cause.

The day started off with us being in the bakery making all the treats by hand. We made chocolate covered strawberries, pretzels and shish kabobs made from chocolate covered fruits. We also had brownies and everything looked delicious. As soon as we set up the giggles and stares began. Two boys wearing bras in the middle of Safeway attracts a lot of attention. We sold most of our items in under two hours but still had a few left. We started making deals with people, trying to sell items in bulk. Luckily some of the employees decided to buy the rest and we packed up our table. Many high fives were given and a lady even told us " have a blessed afternoon". That really made our day knowing that we making a difference.
You wouldn't think that the people you were selling to cared about the cause, but most of them actually did. When a horrible disease such as breast cancer hits, its probable that everyone is affected in some way. It was a great day and we really felt appreciated for the work we did.

It's great to see that you decided to continue volunteering at Safeway, especially since you have to wear those bras everytime you go there! This shows that you and Jordan as well are very interested in the cause and it's good to see guys getting involved because usually for breast cancer you would expect women to be volunteering. I'm glad that you guys get so into it and trying your best to raise money, and even taking the time to make the pastries you sell. I hope you continue to volunteer here and also continue to be successful.
