Time for an Adventure with the kids

For my third volunteer set I worked with Christiane and we went to the niles Adventure Time. I was excited to go back there because I missed the kids and I know they missed me to. When me and Chen got there we were greeted by Christy, the director, and she told us that we were more than welcome to help out. She said that they might need help inside so that's where we started.

As me and Chen went inside I was again greeted by all of the directors that worked there and missed me. The kids were working on their homework and eating food. I saw little friend Nick and he said hi. We started talking because he was my little buddy and he's really cool and funny. None of the kids had any questions on the homework so me and Chen went outside to play with the other kids. When we went outside there were a group of kids that were playing wall ball and I joined into the game. We had fun playing with them because they were full of energy. The kids were very nice to Chen by not getting her out and helping her and letting her throw the ball. When Chen left to play with a little girl on the swings I still played with Nick and all of the other little kids. I met so much new kids that I didn't see there last time. I met this kid who played baseball and we talked about baseball for a long time. It was a ton of fun and the little kids enjoyed playing with me and Chen! We developed strong relationships with those kids and it was so much fun. Unfortunately we had to leave but we are definitely going back.

The experience was even better the second time at Adventure Time. I loved that I met new kids and made new friends with them. I like to consider all of the kids my little buddies and I love helping them out with things. I didn't want to have to leave but unfortunately I did. I cannot wait to go back and work with the kids again and have a lot of fun with them. I definitely miss them and they miss Chen and I as well.

Glad you had fun. It's also a pretty important thing to interact with kids (assuming you haven't done something like this in the past) because it's relevant to your future career choice, if you've ever considered a job that involves those particular set of people skills (unless you have your heart set on something - but change is inevitable after all) It's also just good in general to know how to talk to people of all ages. I guess I'm just reflecting on how awesome that is since I have a general distaste for anyone ages 3-12. Then again, people can be jerks regardless of age. Okay I'm done with my misanthropic rant now.

Good luck on Equity 4, and good post.

Lil' Bill! Sounds like you had a wonderful time working with the kids and I'm glad you worked somewhere that you enjoyed. I think its great when kids get to hang out with older kids because they love to see role models and people that are older that still enjoy having fun!

HAHA thats funny that you said "they missed you" -_-
