Since my last week at Cabrillo, I was really excited to return and help my little friends with their homework. When I arrived I was greeted by Mrs. Lorraine and was happy to see me. The kids were also glad to see me again and it made me feel good to return. Once I settled in, I started to help the kids with their homework, usually it is homework like math that some kids struggled at. The kids seemed much more respectful to me since my last time that I visited which is a good thing to see.
Once the kids were done with their homework, they had some free time to do other things like arts and crafts. I joined in with the kids and drew pictures. I thought it was really sweet when some kids started to give me some of their drawings involving me in their drawings. It was kind of them to do that and I felt it was a warm welcoming. I appreciated what they did for me, so I gave some of my drawings to the kids. They appreciated my drawings and thought I was a very good artist.

I was then headed for a big surprise when I found out thaat every Wednesday the kids and the volunteers have a big soccer game outside. I was really excited to play soccer ,but was also disappointed because I was not wearing the appropriarte clothes to play. The volunteers set up the goals and some other guys brought out the jerseys for the game. Once the team captains chose their players we began to play. I was on the orange side or as we called it the winning side since our team defeated the yellow team.
Overall, it was another successful day at Cabrillo.I felt closer with the staff and kids at Cabrillo which is good to be connected with them. I feel appreciated when I volunteer and seeing the kids faces as I walk in ready to help is a really great feeling. The little things the kids do can really warms a person's heart like what the kids did with their art. Next time, I will bring the right clothes to play soccer and am happy to be at Cabrillo with these wonderful kids.

It looks really fun playing with kids and helping with their homework. It's important to have children go outside and play something.
Im glad that you are doing something that involves playing and interacting with kids. You are doing something that will actually make a difference in their lives.
