Prop 49 Still Goin' Hard

So on Wednesdays we usually play soccer, but this Wednesday we didn't play soccer so I was sad. The reason we didn't play soccer was because Eddie wasn't there. We still played football though. It was pretty fun either way. Some of those kids can actually catch the ball pretty good. Then, there are also some fast ones that even got me tired. Those kids are great and really have enjoyed volunteering.

It's really great what Cabrillo does with these kids. They truly know how to combine work and play, because all work and no play isn't fun. It sure wouldn't work very well with a bunch of kids because kids have lots of energy and need to run around and play a lot. So Cabrillo does a wonderful job of keeping the balance. Kids aren't just bored and stuck doing homework, they actually interact and they get breaks and stuff.

I am truly getting a lot from this project and I feel I have even grown since we started this project. I don't really feel I'm wasting time when I volunteer, I feel I am giving time to someone who is need of my help, and they will appreciate my help. If we as teenagers help  these kids, I'm sure when they become older they will also give back to the community that gave them so much. I have faith in these kids, they look up to us as role models and I want these kids to be good kids in life.

It's a fun and active experienced you're doing, Oscar! Kids will be kids. They never want to study. They just want to go outside and interact with others. This could relate to those kids that are an only child, because they have no one to play with at home. By you playing along with them could make their day. This isn't just about playing soccer, it's also about communicating with others, and like you said, being their role models. Keep up with this work! :)

I think you're right when you say that kids with teen-aged role models are more likely to help their community in return, since one positive vibe often sets off another.
Also, I like that your title mentions the whole reason why you even have the ability to volunteer there. I hope programmes like this continue into the future.
