Last week I worked at Safeway helping out selling cupcakes for breast cancer but unfortunately I could not make the next date we had to go there. Instead I went down the street to my elementary school, Niles and volunteered at adventure time. What I did there was watch the kids and help them with homework and/or projects. I would also play with them if they wanted to go on the playground or when they wanted to play football or basketball. The name is really the truth because there is always an adventure there.
When I walked in I was greeted by the people who watched over me while I was there when I was little. One of the teachers, Cindy, said "Aww look at you Latrell, your so big now and grown up". Another lady that worked there was Christy and she said, "Oh my god Latrell we haven't seen you in so long. I can't believe how grown up you are and how big you've gotten". You could see some of the years that came out because I would go there everyday after school when I was in elementary school and they always remembered me. I even remembered some of the kids there like my little buddy Cameron. We played everything together and he loved me. I was close to him and his family so I knew he was a good kid. While I was volunteering there I helped Cameron and his friend with there homework. It was easy for me because it is simple math but I still worked it out and taught them how to do it. Once we finished homework and I checked it we played cards. We played this game called war and it is pretty fun. It's difficult to explain but we had fun with that. At 4 it was snack time and I got all the kids together to line up for snacks and a drink. This was a 15 min period where the kids had to eat and were not aloud to go outside. They all sat in there desks being good kids. Once this was over who every had to go to the bathroom I took them there and waited outside. In the meantime the kids got to play outside and we had to watch over them. This wasn't too difficult because there is only a certain place the kids can and can't go. For example there are lunch benches and a smaller playground towards the front of the school and it was too far from the building at adventure time so they couldn't go there. I helped the kids on the monkey bars I pushed them on the swings I even played football with them. I waited for all the kids parents to pick them up and they all were wondering the next time I would come back. I said, "I will come back as soon as possible".
I absolutely love kids and this was an amazing opportunity for me. I had a great time helping out these kids because you can never get tired of them. The only difficult part was keeping up with the little ones like 1-3 grade because they don't listen as much but they are still really fun. I definitely want to come back to these kids because I love every one of them and they are all so respectful. I've never enjoyed so much time with kids until this experience. I loved it and I will be back next week for them. This was my big adventure for the time period.

Awh Latrell! Good job this is sweet. So you are done at with the cupcake breast cancer thing? And how many times a week is adventure time there? Good job though, I like hwo you explain your adventure.
I think it is so cute on how you volunteered at Adventure Time. You made a good choice on volunteering there since you have given some kids who attend Adventure Time somebody to look up to. You might not know it but I'm sure that your buddy Cameron really admires you! I used to think that high school kids were the coolest people ever when I was in elementary school, and since you're Latrell I'm sure those people are dying to hang out with you more!!!
Awh, this is so cute! I'm glad you went back to the place of your childhood and kinda gave back to the place that looked after you. As I was reading your post, you sounded like you were really patient with the kids, which is great..because that's exactly what they need! I'm glad you had a great time, and I'm sure the little kids loved you!
