Hi ! for my fourth equity project I went at the same place, where I did last time, which was " ELD TUTORING", I just love halping them. They know that, we are going to be there to help them out in their homeowork. I feel sad knowing that I am not going to help this people anymore because, last tuesday was our final day for helping them out. We all felt sad because some of the seniors are living and not going to college becuse, they couldn't finish their units but, still proud of them because they learned something from us.
It is really experiencing once, you know that you went threw the same situation as them, while there was no one there to help you out. I will really miss helping this student because, once we were like a family and now everyone is seperating but, even now we hang out with few people during lunch and help them in homeowrk without getting a community service time. because, you can never buy knowledge nor shell knowledge then, why not just teach them wheat we know. It is not like if you teach them then, you'll loose everything. This bring the idea of equity into people by helping what you know and not let them lake behind.
I learned that, even though you don't know a lot of things, people are all around you to help you out. This people are always shy and try to talk to people but, others just make fun of them and their accent. when they read in front of us, they are not shy because they knows that we are not going to make fun or laugh at them but, we are there to help them. I personally went threw same experience as them and didn't ask anyone for help because, I was shy. Even now, people make fun of me and the way I talk and pronounce few things. I am telling you same thing as I told them that, be proud of who you are and be proud that you know something which, you don't need to show it to everyone, just be proud of your self and your Oregon.
Left: Raffi doing his work while, talking to me and Sajjad about him being a driver studying very well and Sajjad being a prince and living alll up to his driver and later, snatch his degree. We make up a lot of funny stories.Bottom: Sajjad as usual not reading but, as miracle today he really did his work, very surprising.

So are you tutoring seniors and helping them out to get their credits done on time? On the other note, I think it is nice that you have created a bond with them in a way that you guys hang out outside the classroom. It's great that you were able to make new friends through this assignment. Also, I admire how you pick yourself up when people make fun of you. I went through the same thing a few years ago and my advice is to just stay patient and keep studying. One day I think people will admire your culture and origin because of the love that you show for it. Again, goodjob on your successful project(=
I think volunteering your time and helping other students was a really good idea. Many students do in fact need a little extra help but are just too shy or scared to reach out to their teachers and ask for help. The fact that you put yourself out there and helped others was really nice and a good way to make new friends as well! Even though some seniors were not able to graduate they still have you to thank for teaching them and helping them in school which is something you should be really proud of so good job! :)
@ Cristal: it's not only seniors it's all ELD students and thank for it, I already knew them very well from our past ELD classes. I will sourly take your advice for it, Thank you very much.
@Nancy: Ya they are mostly shy to take help from strangers and they did thank us for helping them by taking us on a field trip.
People that learn English as a 2nd language can sometimes have a rough time and it's great to see someone helping them with it. It's great that you're helping Seniors before they graduate because college will be very challenging for them if they don't know English. I like how even though they aren't motivated, you motivate them and basically force them to do their work!
