feeding the elderly

For my next set of community service, i didn’t know if i should volunteer at the same place or if i should try something new. I thought it would be nice to try something new, so i did. This time i volunteered at my local church here in fremont, Holy Spirit. I didnt know that the church, after certain massed, has a small breakfast/lunch service for the people who attended that mass.

So after the mass i went to the small hall, where the elderly ate, and i helped prepare the food. We had salad, mixed fruit, soup, and some brownies. After preparing the food, Father Matt came in and led the prayer. After doing that i had to help hand out the food to everyone there, and there was at least 50+ elderly people. Of course once everyone was finished eating their meal i had to help clean up. And let me tell you, cleaning you was the worst part of this whole thing because i had to sort everything out from trash, recycle, and compost.

Honestly, i enjoyed volunteering there. Why? Because all the elderly people are so nice. Theyre so sweet hearted. I liked it also because i know i was really helping them out, and because the fact that theyre old and they cant really move like they used too, i know that they were really glad that they had someone to help them with this kind of stuff. I would like to volunteer here again in the future.
