Amazing Grace Pt. 3

As you have seen in my past posts, I have been helping the same person at the same mental care home named LeeTee at Amazing Grace. Once again, I have helped her this time around again. Well, due to me having a late schedule at work and tight schedules around the week, I had to come in at 9PM. When I came in, LeeTee was getting ready for bed. I felt really rude because I felt like a disturbance. I asked the care giver what he needed help with and what I could do to help LeeTee during night time. He said that LeeTee really likes stories, so I decided to read her a book to sleep. I read her Cinderella. By the time I was half way done with it, she had fallen asleep. So I decided that the next time I was going to volunteer, I would read to her the second half of Cinderella. So by detail, I dressed LeeTee up in her sleeping clothes along with the caregiver. LeeTee's blind so we had to guide her to her bed and help her get tucked in. I pulled up a chair and sat next to her reading the short summary of Cinderella off my phone. Apparently, Cinderella and Snow White were her favorite Disney characters because she used to read them to her children. She also told me that for halloween, her children all dressed up as Disney characters and she made the Cinderella costume. Overall, I really like how LeeTee and I have bonded to a close friendship throughout the volunteer experience that I had with them. I seemed to be a really close friend of hers now and she tells me a lot about her past.
