For the second volunteer work we volunteered at our elementary's school after school program called, "Adventure Time." We went there as kids ourselves so it was great to come back and interact with the kids and entertain them. I first assisted the workers there by passing out snacks and water to the kids at each table. After snack time was over we had to dismiss each table by how quiet they were the entire time. Once they were all dismissed they then began to do their own things around the black top and playground outside.
Once snack time was over there were kids running outside to play, kids inside to play with games or toys, and some kids that just did homework. I helped a few of the kids with their homework because they were confused by a problem or couldn't understand that lesson that day. I then went outside where a couple kids wanted me to throw a football out to them as they ran and caught it. A couple hours later many kids left and it was only Me, Ron, and the staff there. Before we left we talked to the staff about our time there and told them about how we were there as kids.
Volunteering at Adventure Time was a great experience for us. It was great to see everyone we remember from our elementary school days and it was good to talk to all of them again. What we've learned from this was that it's always great to help kids out when they need it and helping entertain these kids as they wait for their parents to pick them up. How this effects the social issue is because a lot of parents these days need to work later and don't have a babysitter to watch their kids. With being at Adventure Time adults can watch over their kids and help the kids out with homework while they wait for their parents to arrive to pick them up.

Adventure Time is for parents who are too busy at work to take care of their kids. I think it would've been better if you volunteered at a daycare for privledged kids, since that would've benefited more. I'm glad you enjoyed your experience, I use to attend Adventure Time so I thought it would be better to inform you that it would've been better to volunteer at a daycare where they truely lack volunteers and they hire social workers.
It is good to hear that you enjoy working with the kids. Many people think looking after kids are annoying or boring, but it's actually not!:) This program also helps lots of parent that need someone to look after their kids and help them with homework since they have work.
