During the last week of October, Ron and I volunteered at the Candle Lighter's Ghost House down at the Fremont Hub. We helped set up the house with Rachel while painting the walls, setting up tables and lights, and putting up props through the entire house. We also signed up to participate in the house later that week too! We had to get up early to help everyone out and we were there for about half the day. Later that week we actually got to be ghouls and monsters scaring people inside the house!
When we got to work in the house itself we had to get face painted by a few different people then finally put on a cloak to complete our horrifying look. When we went inside we were given flashlights to see in our little section of where we were assigned at. As people walked by I jumped out to scare them one at a time or as a whole group. Seeing there scared facial expressions was hilarious as they jumped and hollered when they came up! When the "good fairy" came by with little kids behind her that was a sign for us to not scare them.
To improvise, I did stupid and weird dances to make the kids not scared of me and to have a laugh instead of a scream. They would point and laugh at me with smiles on there faces but I wouldn't care; I was having fun dancing! We worked for a couple hours inside, had a great time with great laughs and screams, and then we had to go home. The following Saturday we all came back to help the crew dismantle the place and help them pack up. I helped bring in the wooden walls into their truck, take down a few props and lights, and wipe up the big mirror in one of the hallways. Overall this was a great experience and I cant wait for next October to do all of this again!

That sounds fun Austin. When was this again? And how do you volunteer for it, cause i've been wanting to do that? And by the way, don't forget, you don't have to indent for the blog!
I've always wanted to know what it was like to work in the Ghost House. It seems really fun, I might have to try it this October. I liked how you goofed around to make the kids laugh instead of be scared; it was a sweet thing to do for them. I hope you can get the work again next time!
Been going there since I was a kid and I've always wanted to go and volunteer there. I heard it was so much fun and by the looks of it, you had fun which is what counts. I appreciate you not scaring younger children so they don't get scared to death.
