Finally!

I tried to volunteer a third day at Dolly's this Saturday but they weren't open. I ended up having to volunteer at the Salvation Army again. The Salvation Army looks terrible compared to Dolly's. At least I'm getting my hours and working for a worthy cause. I had to hang up clothes and put toys in bins. The clothes were mostly baby clothes and they were hard to fit onto thw huge hangers. Trying to figure out how they'll fit took the longest time! After I finished hanging up a bag full, my aunt handed me two bags of toys. A lot of the toys were broken and I didn't understand why someone would donate broken stuff. I had to throw around 15 toys away because they were either broken or in really bad condition. A whole bunch of stuffed animals were filthy and stained with who knows what. I ended up filling up only one bin of toys that day and of course, I had to clean up already cleaned tables again. The tables weren't dirty! None of the clothes we hung up or any of the toys touched the tables! I don't understand why the heck i had to clean these darn tables. I think the other volunteers just wanted me out of their way. Oh well, I finished my hours and got what I needed as well as helping out the community.

This social issue is important because there are a lot of people in need of clothing for their children, food, toys, and any other supplies that can help them push through hard times. Donating to and supporting charities such as Dolly's and the Salvation Army can and will help the community and can help people fight against a financial struggle. Doing good for others has an affect on you and the whole community. Any little thing you do for a charity can make a huge difference in peoples lives.

making you do unnecessary work like cleaning an already cleaned table is stupid..they should use helpers in a better and more productive way so they can enjoy helping too while and have some fun time working.

Im happy that you helped out the community. But I wish it was a better experience for you. I hope this organization makes a better effort to connect with their volunteers because right now it doesnt seem all that great. But on a positive note you did help out the community and you made a lot of effort as well.
