In the modern world, funny clips caught on video are becoming more and more popular each day. There are now also several T.V. shows that are based on these very internet clips. One in specific that revolve around these clips is a program called Tosh.0. This show is relatively new and thanks to newly found clips on the internet, it continues to produce newer and more exciting episodes. Although the shows primary goal is to be funny, which it does achieve, the comic bits in between clips can be offensive to groups of people. These jokes support the dominant ideology in the modern world that offending others gender, race, or beliefs is funny. All of which support stereotyping and profiling people. This shows that although America allows these types of freedoms, people support being predjudice against them.
Tosh.0 is a comical television show that capitalizes on funny internet videos. Although these clips are hilarious to watch, some clips can go to far. Some involve nasty or harsh encounters that nobody would experience in their day to day life. The show also stars a semi-famous host, Daniel Tosh. He adds commentary to the clips and does some stand-up comedy along with it. Other than that, the show has some interviews with people who star in the videos that are found on the internet. The chosen person is usually invited on the show and given a chance to redeem their failure in the video. Other than the internet, a green-screen, and a host; the show really requires nothing else.
Now the audience of the show enjoys the comic bits and raging clips, but that's not to say that the show doesn't have its issues. a vast majority of the jokes in-between clips are or can be offending to a certain race, religion, or gender. for example on a specific episode, there was a video taken from a news report. In the video an African American reporter is standing behind a high school out in the east. When a bug jumps into his mouth he looses composure and insults the " old country ass town" that he was in at the time. Daniel's commentary was "He just went from white washed to ghetto hood in 1 second flat". Although this wasn't intended to insult the man or blacks alike, it might have struck a nerve with a viewer at home. This clip, among others, show the regular racist comments and stereotypes that the show covers.

I agree TOSH.O has jokes that can be offensive to people but these are the jokes that we use today. The media of comedy builds up on these stereotype jokes like Southpark in the episode "poor and stupid" where Cartman said the only way he could be a NASCAR driver if he is a poor stupid redneck which might offend people and others not. These jokes go on and on and is key to most comedy jokes now.
Great Post.
