Giving Off

Giving Off

Adele’s song “Set fire to the rain” is relevant because she simply writes songs about her ex-boyfriend who broke her heart. Grabbing the attention to many girls who have had broken hearts. She has grown to be popular artist in this year. With many of her songs being heard everywhere and having people singing along. Her song represents the ideology of the American dream of having a perfect relationship. Of course she is going against the ideology showing what does happen and how relationships are hard to manage.

In her songs she briefly talks about how her relationship with the guy was once so perfect. Throughout the songs she then sings about the things that he started doing to push them apart. All the things that started going wrong to end their relationship. Even though she is hurt there are parts in the song where she shows she is still trying to get over it.

What I like most about the song is how she is showing her true feelings about everything she felt throughout their relationship. Her experience to get over what had happened and her journey in every song to forget and let go of what used to be. Adele is expressing and showing that the ideology of the American dream about having the perfect relationship doesn’t always work out. The down side of it all is shown in most of her song just like this one. Here are some examples of her songs to show different aspects of her song.

But there's a side to you that I never knew, never knew
All the things you'd say, they were never true, never true
And the games you play, you would always win, always win.”

Here she shows where he started doing wrong breaking apart the relationship.

“When laying with you
I could stay there, close my eyes
Feel you here, forever
You and me together, nothing is better,”

Adele now shows how their relationship was before she started to figure out the person he really was and in this part shows how the apart American dream ideology is suppose to be. Adele is a young artist that is drawing the attention of many people around the world and making people fall in love with her songs.
