Lady Gaga and her strive to be different

The Lady Gaga Evolution
Lady Gaga is a large part of our pop culture society, who is also said to be the “Queen of Pop Culture.” Her starting career started with the name of Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta which is her birth name. During her early time of her career she was being looked at by recording artist Akon who later signed her for a label. Her early hits were “Poker Face” and “Just Dance.” The album reached number one in six countries. She released a new album this year called, “Born this Way” which portrays her as an exotic character which shows who she really is.

She's usually idolized by the way she looks and the way she acts in her music videos. Her work has affected the way society is today in a positive manner because it teaches young adults that they are free and entitled to act or have freedom of speech to whatever they want. As I mentioned in the first paragraph, "Born this Way" is a song that Lady Gaga describes how she is even though she doesn't match the dominant ideology, it's who she is and it's okay to step out of the corner.

Lady Gaga reflects society in a positive way because she's not afraid to speak out what she really feels and what she tells young adults. In society today, many people (usually teenagers) are afraid to who they want to be and what they have to say because of the dominant ideology. Lady Gaga expresses through her loud choice of clothing and music that it's okay to be who you are because you were born that way and nobody can change you.

I agree that Lady Gaga's song does portray that it is okay to be who you really are. I believe that the dominant ideology of teenagers and all people of all ages is all stereotypical. Yes, maybe there are people who do act the way of the stereotypical human being, but there are many others that are looked at different and judged because they're just being themselves. People have to stop being so insecure about their true identity and just admit that they are "Born This Way".
