Lil Wayne YMCMB (explicit)

A person of popular culture is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. also known as Lil Wayne. He is important because of his music. Some people don’t like his music because it is very offensive. In almost all of his music it is about drugs and smoking and some people don’t like that. His music videos also interest people and make people like him more because they like his music and lyrics to songs. Lil Wayne has been out for a long time and just came out with an album called The Carter IV which came out last month. His music could be causing a controversy because people might see that he smokes so they might start smoking. He is also part of Illuminati and people can start believe in and taking part in the Illuminati. Lil Wayne is shaping ideology in a negative way unfortunately. He is not the greatest role model. His impact on people is that his music affects them but not him as a person. Stereotypes that people look at are that just because he talks about weed all the time that African Americans all smoke weed. But that is not true. Lil Wayne is not the nest role model but he does make great music.

Lil Wayne was born on September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He started rapping at the age of 9 and he was the youngest rapper to get signed at Cash Money Records. Lil Wayne gained most of his success with the group's major selling album Guerilla Warfare released in 1999. His two albums that did not sell that great were Lights Out in 2000 and 500 Degreez in 2002. He really blew up when he came out with his album called The Carter ion 2004. The best song in that album that a lot of people liked was Go Dj. This lead to the rest of his albums being called The Carter. It has gone all the way up to The Carter IV which just came out last month. I’m sure that he is going to make more songs and have a new album but it might take a while.

Lil Wayne affects this negatively because of some language he uses in his songs. In the song MegaMan the first to lines are "faded off that kush I'm gone, only two years old when daddy used to bring them hookas home." This is not good because again it is talking about him smoking and bringing home hookers at age 2. We all know that is not true but still kids have to hear this. I still like his music I am not saying its bad but I dont think that kids should be hearing this kind of language. I am sure that there are other words he can use and still make it flow. All I am saying is that Lil Wayne can affect ideology in both ways, in a good way and bad way. A good way because he makes such good songs tat people like and can look up to. The bad way by his lyrics and in his music videos it shows him smoking all the time. I think Lil Wayne is a good pop culture artist though and he should keep doing what he is doing.

I don't understand how Lil Wayne is such an appealing rapper. I admit that I do like his songs even though his lyrics are repetitive and extremely explicit. His songs are exposed to the youngest of people which set a bad example since Lil Wayne is known for his extreme drug use, sexual lyrics and also for degrading women.

I agree with your analysis of Lil Wayne "shaping ideology in a negative way" but people also have to remember that the people who believe that he is influencing people to act the way he does have a choice. For example. If people idolize Linsay Lohan, it doesn't mean that they are going to start acting the way she does. People have to realize that it is Just music that he is making. It is up to them if they find a message behind the music or start acting the way that they do because of it.
