Today is Tangled

The movie "TANGLED" is relevant because it's the latest Disney princess movie that came out last year November 24 2010 then the DVD came out this year March 29 2011. Its one of those movies where the concept is the girl is the vulnerable one and then the guy rescues her but in this case because it is current the girl is strong enough and she wants to prove to everyone she is strong and she can do anything she puts her mind to. These days no girl just does what they are told by the man and no woman really needs rescuing the guy is there to support and be there, yes, and that's how things really work in reality today. This concept doesn't necessarily shape society today its more reflecting how society changed over time. When you think of "Rapunzel" you think of how when it was told a while back it was about a vulnerable girl that's trapped in a tall tower and a prince comes and saves her and that was society that time now "TANGLED" they changed the name, they changed the concept to reflect how we have evolved and changed but it still has that ending fairy tale concept that the boy and girl fall in love.

The story tangled begins with a magic flower and that magic flower can heal everyone and everything and the first one to find it was this old hag and she used it to have eternal life and all you had to do was sing a song. The queen was pregnant with Rapunzel and she was dieing so every one set out to find this magic flower and they found it. So they made the tea that had the magic flower and she gave birth to Rapunzel and for her birth they lit a floating lantern to celebrate her birth all was well for a while until that night the hag stole Rapunzel from the kingdom and took her to a very secret tower that no one knew about the hag raised Rapunzel as her own and one day the thief that stole Rapunzel crown accidentally wandered and found the tower. He climbed up and Rapunzel defended herself and she kept him as proof to show the old woman her "mother" that she can handle it by herself so she can see the floating lanterns. but she still yelled and said no and Rapunzel sent her to get paint for her birthday instead and while the old hag was gone she made a deal with the thief and said "if u take me to see the floating lanterns i will give you your satule (which had the crown) back" and they went off and so on and so forth they saw the lanterns fell in love and she found out all on her own with help with the guy she found who she really was which was the lost princess.

In a specific scene (1)"I've got a person in my closet" it really shows how she's really just proud of what she did on her own because her mother (mother Gothel) was telling her that she was weak and clumbsy and all this stuff but she proved to herself that "so what if you think i cant handle it i think i can and ill prove it" and she just has an ecstatic energy that she actually handled herself well when a random guy broke into the tower. Another scene is (2) "i see the light" and its one of my favorite scenes but it really has another meaning to it if you really analyze it its like a typical fairy tale ending the boy and the girl fall in love but he was a thief working for bad people and he was gready because thats how he can get by and thats how he grew up but the main moral to me in the particular scene is no matter who you are you can be gay you can be a past "bad" person but your still a person and it can take one person to look at you and see you as a real person no different from anyone else but they treat you like your there. People today or society today judge people a lot of the time on their labels or what they see outside like "oh their gay" "oh she/he is weird" rather than getting to know the person. That's how i see that scene particularly.
