Civil Right Movement....

Hi ! I just liked the unit about Civil Right Movement. I learned lots of things very easily like i never did. We took lots of notes but, apart from there, i learned more through doing projects and gallery walk activity. I got to know, how long civil right movement went on. We learned about great leader which i never knew of like Thurgood Marshall from Brown v. Board of Education, This case was about African American students who wanted to go to desegregated High school but, got beat up from White students. Later, this people needed police Scots to go from one class to another, and even today as you can see lots of African Americans gets beaten up just for being in the front for this the organization NAACP fought back just to gate students in to desegregated schools. Civil Right Movement took place just because, the white thought the African Americans are not capable for them. They don't deserve better place than their own race. Poor black that didn't want higher ranking, all they wanted was Equity with a little respect. White never thought that what if the African Americans did this to them, what would they go through. African Americans were killed and lynched for just a little mistake in front of their families. As the time passed slavery rise up, more slaves got killed as they tried to run away from their owner, a lot of them tried to do suicide along with their family. If they wanted to rise up, they would be killed.
Also, there was another movement which got affected on the Civil Right. Freedom Summer it was movement of African American as they tried to register as many people as they could to vote a new political party called Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party(MFDP). Their goal was to make African American vote but, at one point, they failed at it and had to return back home. Even in today's world the Equality is not shared equally, the Voter I.D. Law in where, minorities are loosing ability to vote in federal election as "to prevent voter fraud". The freedom of summer did not reached to their goal but, had great impact on Civil Right. There were lots of methods for gaining Civil Right movement. As Chicano Youth Movement, where this kids marched to bring attention to the disadvantage position of Mexican American and started to build unity among themselves. They Boycott schools and lead a demonstration. There words were "Services, education and defense of Chicano community". As they went on they won their point and got a place in today's world.
As We move on we see lots of different people in our way toward life, I bag to God never give us such a day or time period as Civil Right. As We went through this unit lots of perspective and my ideas changed during the process but, never understand why someone will do such a cruel punishment to other. I am proud of Martin Luther King Jr. that even though he was alone in this fight, there were lots of other people who stood around him and got his hand. He Was the one who got the word out to he world the word of Freedom and said one day our dream will come true. He's word were so string and had power in them that even children followed him as they marched out of their schools and right on the street. he never wanted violence because, He was a non-violence person. He's last day he gave a long speech and told he's people that now is time for him to die where in near future he will be killed but, still people are trying to argue that did he knew he was dying earlier or not? This Unit really got me into it. I totally understood how world was than and now. The question arise Why does segregation still exist?
