Two and a Half men is a modern day tv show that has been through a lot of changes over the past year. The most recent change is Charlie Sheen being kicked off of the show because of drug abuse and assaulting a hooker. Two and a Half Men has been one of the most highly rated comedies over the past decade and now the main character is gone. This is an issue because Charlie Sheen played the main character of the show Charlie Harper, hedonistic jingle writer. The show displays the life of an american family, a father, his son, and the father’s brother. They deal with modern day issues that a lot of other people could deal with.
Two and a Half men takes place in a Malibu Beach-Front house with Charlie Harper a jingle writer, his brother, Alan Harper. Alan is a chiropractor and has a son Angus Jones, he is said to be an underachiever that asks his dad and uncle for help. Charlie is always getting into relationships and getting out of them while his brother, Alan, who is not so fortunate. They fit the stereotype of being the modern day American family. This work shows that America has many issues in our households but in the end we get over them. It says that American Society runs off of each other and how if we all deal with issues that could be similar.
To me, Two and a Half Men is showing the American Ideology that people go through problems and real life situations together. Sometimes these issues are represented as funny on the show but that is because it is a Comedy. Some quotes are: “She/He's not coming back.” – Charlie Sheen and “Wanna stick 'em somewhere?” – Alan Cryer.
